Inspired by a drinking vessel decorated with the image of Aphrodite, the ancient Greek goddess of love, according to the book Dom found the picture in she is riding a goose, not a swan, which we think makes it more charming!

The back has an imperfection that occurred during the firing, this doesn’t affect the structural integrity of the platter and won’t get any worse. There is a small hairline crack at the very top of the platter. Both are pictured.

To preserve the Ancient Grecian feel this platter has a raw, unglazed top. The slip is clay that is fired onto the piece and will not budge, it is not ‘painted‘ and can be washed/scrubbed etc. It has a glazed underside to make the platter more robust.
